Shihua Liu is a pianist and curator. She recently completed the Artist Diploma in Piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, following Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
She has performed at major venues across China, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, Chengdu City Concert Hall, Shenzhen Jingshan Theatre, and Harbin Grand Theatre, and has appeared at international festivals in the United States and Italy.
She has also collaborated with acclaimed violinist Siqing Lu in recital and chamber music performances, as well as appearing with cellist Li-Wei Qin. Her performances have been featured on China Central Television.
Alongside her performing career, Shihua is also active in concert curation and artistic project development. She initiated the Waves of Tomorrow graduation concert series in 2020, presenting more than twenty online concerts that attracted over 100 million views across national platforms. A live edition followed in 2023. Her subsequent projects have included the M·Art Young Artists Programme and a range of other concert and artistic initiatives.

A NOTE FROM THE PIANIST
Voices Unveiled brings together works by women composers across three centuries, tracing a history that has not always been heard.
These pieces have long existed at the margins — often overlooked, sometimes obscured, yet never entirely absent.
In this recital, I listen to them not as exceptions, but as something that has always been there — a presence that moves quietly through time, shaped by different lives, different circumstances.
From the silences and constraints of the nineteenth century, to voices gradually coming into view, and to expressions that continue to unfold today, these works begin to resonate with one another — and continue, quietly, to move forward.
